On Air conditioners without remote
? If you can reach the air conditioner, will you be able to operate the controls?
? Do you have the instruction manual for the air conditioner? If so, it is the very best source of information regarding operating your air conditioner if you cannot use the remote control.
? If you do not have the instruction manual, it is almost certain that you can find it on the Internet. Just google the name of the manufacturer followed by the model of the air condition
Most models of Split Acs will have either a power or some sort of switch behind the front grille on the bottom right.
In some air conditioners you will find a button on the side of the rotating blades of your AC. If you press it, your AC will turn on.
You can download many apps from google play store if you own a infrared port ( IR) on your mobile phone and you can control AC with it. I had posted a video in my YouTube channel about it. Click Here if you need to see it.
Automatically Off and On
You can use a micro controller based small unit to be attached to your Air Conditioner which can detect human presence and also write the code for your controller such that it can sense the room temperature and if it rises above a particular level and provide a human interface such you can set till what temperature it should cool the room.
D6T thermal sensor- for human presence
RTD-temperature detection.
Home automation have all this feature. You need not to use any remote or switch to control various appliances. Its convenient as well as safe. It consists of PLC with sensors ,RTD,alarms etc.
Moreover Cheap brands and models normally use only remote to control them, as it is cheaper to produce them without front panel and with only an IR sensor. In this case, if your remote is damaged or missing, get an universal remote from any electronic shop or buy from online. If it was designed for exclusive remote controlling, its front panel should only have a power button. If it was designed for remote-less control, the panel should have buttons for temperature control.
For Voltas AC
What you need to do is to open the ac filter cover on front. Nudge the cover from both sides of the ac to open it. There will be 2 holes beside the circuit board. Take a small pen or screwdriver and insert into bottom hole and slightly push it. When doing those make sure your ac switch is on. The ac will now get automatically started. Same process to switch off the ac.

What are the advantages of AC's and air-cooler's?
Introduction
The main advantage with these two equipment is that they afford comfort. The air conditioner is used most places, but is more expensive to own and run. It cools the air and dehumidifies the air. In coastal cities this makes sense as the discomfort is both due to the high temperatures as well as the humidity. The air cooler on the other hand cools the air by the evaporation of water. The outside air is drawn through this unit onto a pad which has water running. The water evaporates and cools the air, taking the heat to evaporate from the air.
The former recycles the air from the room. The latter constantly draws fresh air from outside. The advantage for the air cooler is that there is constantly outside air being drawn across into the room. The air conditioner on the other hand has a high amount of re-cycled air being cooled. The temperature reduction by an air conditioner is higher whereas for the air cooler this temperature reduction is dependent on the humidity of the place you are cooling. A humid city would have lesser cooling as compared to a dry city. The cities on the coast are normally a lot more humid compared to cities in the interior. An air cooler would be better for comfort applications as compared to an air conditioner at Delhi(interior city) as it a lot drier. Whereas at Chennai (coastal city) an air cooler would not be as effective. From a health perspective it is always better to have more fresh air. For air conditioning in offices we require at least 5 cfm(cubic feet per minute) of fresh air per person in an office environment. This fresh air is required to offset the carbon-di-oxide which is being constantly produced to the occupants breathing. For an air cooler it is all fresh air being used.
Besides the air conditioner guzzles a large amount of power (1.4 kW/ton) whereas an air cooler has basically a motor which is of a very nominal wattage. For example a 1.5-ton AC would consume about 2.1 units in an hour, whereas an air cooler would consume just 0.2-0.3 units in an hour.(1 unit is kW-hr the unit measure by our electricity board meter.)
To sum up the air conditioner has a better cooling available whereas an air cooler has better fresh air available. An air cooler makes more sense at interior cities where as an air conditioner would be better in the coastal cities. Lastly the power consumed is much lower for the air cooler as compared to an air conditioner.
ADVANTAGE:
AC
According to the requirements of an individual there are different types of air conditioners, as window mounted, portable and split air conditioners they can be purchased .
The installation, repair and replacement of window mounted AC is also very easy.
Split air conditioners can be mounted easily on walls and are ideal for those residing in the apartments.
Poratable air conditioners can be easily shifted from one place to another and these are also called as mobile air conditioners.
The most beneficial thing from the air conditioner is that keeps you away from health issues.
Unlike the air coolers that are noisy, the air conditioners are quieter while operation.
DISADVANTAGE:
Split air conditioners are a bit expensive as compared to the air coolers.
The excessive energy consumption is another drawback of using window and split air conditioners.
While operation, the air conditioners release greenhouse gases that pollute the atmosphere.
AIR-COOLERS:
ADVANTAGES:
The most important benefit of using air coolers is that they are relatively cost effective.
They are suitable for individual cooling in the summers unlike the ACs which cool the whole room.
They are also of several types based on their ability of cooling and also easy to install.
Air coolers consumes less power, which can reduce your electricity expenses.
DISADVANTAGE:
The climatic conditions also effect the cooling capacity of air coolers.
You need to supply water continuously to the evaporator air coolers .
These may effect the health of people suffering from asthma and other respiratory problem

What is Heat Mode in AC? Can air conditioners be used to make the room warm?
First let's talk about how air conditioners work.
The vapor-compression refrigeration cycle is a process that works via a chemical refrigerant that carries heat from one part of the system in your air conditioner to another and then releases it.
The chemical is compressed into a high pressure, extremely hot gas that is pumped into a long tube called a ‘coil’. As the refrigerant flows through the coil, heat is extracted through a fan. After it has cooled down, the gas is transformed back into a liquid state and is then passed into an expansion valve, which lowers the pressure of the chemical before pumping into the ‘evaporator’.
The evaporator is where the chemical turns into a gas by pulling heat from the air. As gas absorbs the heat, the cold air produced is blown into the room.
Now briefly
Vapor compression air conditioner's sole purpose in life is to move heat from one space to another. It could be moving heat from the inside of your refrigerator to your house, from inside your house to the great outdoors or from the inside of your car to outside.
If you want to heat with this cycle, "simply" turn it around. (Its really not that simple.) This is the basic concept of a "heat pump". They are air conditioners that in the summer take heat from your house and push it outside. In the winter, the cycle reverses and it pulls heat from outdoors and pushes it into the house. It works efficiently down to around 10 to 20F outside at which point it is typically to cold to pull the heat out of the outdoors efficiently.
Could you simply take a window A/C unit and install it backwards to provide heat? In theory, yes, but you will have a lot of problems.
First, most of those units are factory set to prevent them from trying to cool to a temperature less than 55F. That means if it is colder than 55F outside, it won't provide heat.
If you override this feature (search for controllers that can turn a window A/C unit into a walk-in cooler controller), the next problem will be when the air temperature is under 40F. To get heat to move, the cold surface of an A/C unit must be less then the air it is pulling heat from. So if it is 38F outside, the refrigerant must be around 30F. This is below freezing so moisture in the air will freeze on the coil. Real heat pumps have a defrost cycle to deal with this. Your window unit will just freeze solid and no longer provide heat.
Again, in theory it would work but you would need to know the various problems to look for to keep it running.
Thanks
Health and Air conditioning
Staying in as air conditioned room for most part of the day will reduce your tolerance to natural weather conditions and hence make you more vulnerable to issues like heat strokes, etc .
secondly air conditioners can also decrease the moisture content of the room if such an issue is left unaddressed then it might cause your nasal cavity to dry further making you vulnerable to an infection (happens most of the times with people who have sinus issues ) . This can be controlled by circulating the air with outside environment thereby maintaining the moisture content."

What is Auto Clean / Self Clean in AC Remote?
Using the Auto clean feature once in few days will help in prevent rusting of the evaporator coil and growth of harmful micro-organisms within the AC.
It should be noted that Auto clean is in no way related to self-cleaning of the air filters. The air filters should be cleaned manually once in 30 days for better working of the air conditioning unit.
Filters are used to clean the air. The process of cleaning filters is simple as shown in this video. Click the link to YouTube.
However, many people do not clean this filter and this results in loss of cooling and loss of efficiency (AC will consume more electricity). Autoclean just makes this process easy for you and cleans the filter automatically so that you do not have to do it yourself.

How does an inverter air conditioner work?
It can be explained in many different ways. Everyone is not same to understand same paragraphs. So we decided to give you different definitions from around the world. Read and understand.
Ok Let's start..
We need to separate the question into two parts:
- How does and conditioner work?
- How does and inverter aircon work?
An airconditoner works by compressing a gas. When you do that it gets hot. If you then let that gas cool (by a radiator and fan on the back) it has less energy than before. Now if you let the gas expand again, it gets colder than before.
Older aircons work by using a simple thermostat which simply turns it on when the temperature gets above a set point and then turns it off when it gets below that. However inverter aircons control the speed of the compressor to adjust their output. This makes them more efficient and quieter.
The word inverter to an electrical engineer means a method of producing AC from a DC source. In an aircon the mains frequency AC is first rectified to produce DC. Then the DC is switched to produce variable frequency AC, controlling the speed of the motor.
OR
2. An inverter air conditioner has a compressor whose speed may be varied according to the quantity of heat which it is desired to remove from the air.
This is in contrast to more conventional older air conditioners which switch the compressor of when the set temperature is achieved and turn it on again when the temperature has changed sufficiently.
The change is due to the difference in the switch on and off sensitivity / setting of the thermostat (differential) and the ability or otherwise of the compressor to stop and rapidly restart.
So in theory and to a great extent in practice, inverter air conditioners - albeit with far more complex systems may achieve a better level of temperature stability than fixed speed units and eliminate the high - though BRIEF - starting current of electric motors.
Since generally most compressors operate at their optimum efficiency when running at a particular speed I wonder how efficient an inverter air conditioner is when the compressor is operating at a lower speed - i.e. is the cooling effect proportional to its electrical consumption at lower speed ?.
OR
The conventional approach to a refrigerative air conditioner is to have a thermostat that merely turns the compressor on and off. That is not ideal.
An inverter air conditioner works the same as any other refrigerative air conditioner, except that the compressor (and possibly the indoor fan) is powered by a device that automatically varies the speed of rotation to suit the heat or cooling required.
If you know more than this please comment.

Timer OFF/ON Button in AC Remote
- Timer OFF and ON is a precision control, you set exact time, and the AC will turn off, exactly at the same time, daily. Obviously this operation is generally used in tandem with Timer on control.
You set Timer on & Timer off, and every day, AC follows same routine, in this control, the set temperature is maintained.
Electric charges will go down if you use it wisely.
Please go through below mentioned sentences. Then you will understand.
If you have started the ac now. And need to switch off the ac after few hours. For example 2 hours starting from now when you will set the timer it will start counting 2 hours and switch it off the ac . Whatever timer you set; it will start counting from the time set and switch it off as per the time decided I mean set timer. Timer will start counting from the time you set.
How do I set it?
Answer: Before setting ON timer please ensure that electric power is there in your AC unit. For setting ON timer press ON TIMER button repeatedly on your AC remote to set the desired duration for switching ON the AC.
In the same manner you can set AC OFF Timer using OFF TIMER button on remote control to set the desired duration for switching OFF the AC unit while AC is switched ON.
How Timer works? What is the mechanical part? Ok. Let's see.
General working
If you set your timer to switch on AC after 3 hrs , it wil start a count down from 180 min to 0min , after it reaches 0 min it will trigger compressor to start operation
If you set your timer to switch off AC after 3 hrs , it wil start a count down from 180 min to 0min , after it reaches 0 min it will trigger compressor to stop operation
Technical working
As these timers are signal based they have 3 basic inputs ( it can vary as per model)
The input signal ( your time input)
The output signal ( signal sent to contactor )
Power signal ( power required for timer to operate )
Once the input has been made the countdown starts after the countdown is compete the timer then sends a signal to contactor to switch on or switch off the compressor.
If there are other accessories like crankcase heater etc then the wiring will become bit complex depending on the requirements.
Please leave a comment or see contact for more details.

What is the difference between split air conditioner, central air conditioning and window air conditioner?
Advantages –
· In this you can opt for a multi-split system to include more than one indoor unit connected to a single outdoor unit.
· It is easy to install and maintain, even for longer period.
· It is cost-effective and simple to operate.
· They are available in attractive designs
Popular brands of split air conditioner available in the market include Hitachi, Godrej, LG, Whirlpool, Voltas ,... Etc.
WINDOW AC
Window air conditioning units are made to fit right inside a window and will usually cool one to two rooms. These units save both energy and money. Due to the ease of installation, these units only require a few minutes to set up. You can find them available for single or double-hung window styles, as well as for other types of windows.
Through the wall units are similar to window units, except that they are placed within a precut space within a wall. Also like window units, these are perfect for cooling down one to two room's worth of space. Because of their placement, they do require a little bit more work for installation purposes than a window unit. You will have to cut a hole in one of your exterior walls, use a sleeve, and insert the wall unit.
Central AC
Compressor condenser outside, far away from the room to be cooled.
Imagine there's just one BIG outdoor unit (like in split AC but of much larger capacity) with multiple ducts (outlet openings) which are connected to multiple indoor units. These indoor units can be of different types. See above few pictures of different indoor units which you see in offices and CCDs or multiplexes.
Is central air conditioning more efficient than window units?.
There are also several different kinds of central air conditioning. Full fresh air AC is not very efficient, however when used as a displacement ventilation system with economisers it can be extremely efficient. Then you have fan coils or chilled beams, where a small amount of unconditioned air is supplied to a room equipped to a fan coil or chilled beam which uses chilled water to deliver cooling, and the air is either passively or actively moved around in the room, that also can be really efficient.
You also have mixed-mode AC where the chiller is only used in peak cooling cases, otherwise people are free to open windows to passively cool down rooms. Finally you also have night ventilation, where you use the cool night air to completely chill down the building and rely on the structure's thermal inertia to maintain that temperature well into the day.
None of these energy-saving features are possible with window units.
Please comment for more doubts.
Thanks.
AC or Cooler. Which is better? Why?
First off all..
We will talk about the advantages of aircooler.
Yes, air coolers are worth buying. Evaporative air coolers use a fan to draw in warm stale air, where it passes over water-moistened pads. This immediately cools the air. Then evaporative coolers release this cool moisturized air into space. It's similar to the feeling of feeling a chill when you get out of a pool even on a warm day.
1. Cost-Effective and Small Carbon Footprint
Compared to air conditioners that use compressors and refrigerants, swamp coolers use only water, a fan, and pump to saturate the cooling media and cool your space.
2. Humidifies Air
The evaporative cooling process naturally humidifies dry air - reducing dry air symptoms such as itchy eyes, throat, or skin in dry climates.
3. Doubles as a Commercial-Grade Fan
Don't add water and use your evaporative cooler as a heavy-duty fan indoors or outside.
4. Additional Benefits
Evaporative coolers are also easily portable to different locations and even help keep bugs away when used outdoors.
5. Uses no gases or substances that have a negative impact on the environment
6. Can operate without stabilizers
7. Simple mechanism. Maintenance is easy and can be done by anyone, Spare parts are easily and cheaply available
8. Doesn't have any special insulation requirements in the rooms
Depends on the local weather conditions. If you live in a region where humidity usually remains high, then air-conditioning is the only option. However, in dry weather conditions, air coolers are very effective.
Considering the electricity cost comparison between AC and air cooler, AC consumes almost 8 times more energy than and air cooler.
Now in the other side
Air coolers are known economical medium to beat the summers, but did you ever thought if it can be harmful to your health. When it’s too hot, it makes you uncomfortable but when it’s hot and humid it's dangerous. Humidity is water vapors present in the atmosphere. Air helps our body to cool down when we perspire by evaporating sweat on the body. But when it's humid, this moisture stays on your skin making us feel even hotter. This is known as heat index which is apparent temperature measuring of how hot it feels when factoring of relative humidity done with actual air temperature. It varies from 80 to 137 with temperature ranging from 80F to 110F and 40% to 100% humidity level. With an increase in the heat index, it becomes more dangerous.
First and foremost, the impact of humidity is discomfort, but results can be more hazardous if it’s hot. Some adverse effect on a human body are -
• Fatigue and dehydration when heat index varies from 80-91
• Muscle cramp when heat index varies from 91-106
• Fainting when heat index varies from 107-127
• Heat/Sunstroke when heat index varies from 127-137
Apart from this, it increases airborne infection and irritation in skin and eye.
To get out of this trouble, you need a properly ventilated room. Your air cooler should be placed near a window or door to get maximum ventilation. It reduces humidity and enhances cooling experience.
So in my words for good health and good sleep AC is better. If you live in a humid atmosphere go for Air conditioner. If not go for Air cooler. Air coolers are fairy cheap than Air conditioner and consume less electricity. But if you are living in a humid atmosphere Air coolers will not serve the purpose. Perspiration will increase.
If you have any doubts please comment.
Thanks
