How do you hard disable the air conditioner beep?

1.Simply switch off the power supply to the AC for 5 minutes. Check for AC beep sound. Again switch it on. If beep sound still persists, contact the corresponding AC operator.

2.Sensor may be beeping to indicate that the power is out. Check your home's circuit breaker to ensure it has not tripped. If it has, reset the breaker. Even if the breaker has not been tripped, flip it on and off again to reset the system and see if this eliminates the air conditioner beeping noise.

3.There is a dip switch that controls all that type of stuff, either in the remote or in the unit. You need a schematic to figure out what is causing the circuit to make the chime. Either turn off the speaker or disengage the chime circuit. There may be info in the spec plate on the unit as well.

Which is the best 1.5 ton AC to buy in india?

When considering to buy an air conditioner, purchase the ones that are not looting your money and harming your health by making use of sub-standard and inefficient air filters that are very incompetent in removing dust, pollen grains, animal fur from the air, thereby exposing humans to these allergens which can lead to breathing and health disorders.

The issue is further accentuated in homes where members have a history of allergies and/or asthma. Such low grade air filters are fitted in the air conditioners by some manufacturers so as to increase their profit margin as well as to lure the innocent customer, citing low prices of the product.

Now, the choice between a split and a window air conditioner depends upon one’s preference and the place of installation. Split air conditioners are well suited in environments where there is no provision of a window to install a window air conditioner. In addition to this facet of split air conditioners, they also make for an overall quieter experience as the indoor unit and the outdoor units are separate. Since most of the processes involved in air conditioning occur in the outdoor unit only, the interior of the home stays well insulated from the noise. When considering cooling efficiency too, a split air conditioner beats the window air conditioner by a slight margin. These factors make a split air conditioner a better choice over a window air conditioner.

  • Capacity of the air conditioner
  • For a room of area between 120 to 160 square feet, 1 ton air conditioner will sufficiently cool the room.
  • For a room of area between 160 to 200 square feet, one should go for a 1.5 ton air conditioner for adequate cooling.
  • For a room of area between 200 to 260 square feet, a 2 ton air conditioner would meet all your room cooling needs.

In context with the above, it is imperative to note that if the air conditioner is set in an environment where direct sunlight falls on it or in the room in which the air conditioner is to be installed, its cooling efficiency reduces. In such scenarios, we have determined that it is best to decide on an air conditioner with slightly higher capacity. For instance, if a room which would have been cooled well by a 1 ton air conditioner, a slightly higher 1.2 ton air conditioner would impart the best service if the air conditioner and room faces direct sunlight.

  • Build quality of the Condenser.

Condenser is one of the most crucial components of an air conditioner. It is responsible for efficiently cooling the refrigerant from gaseous to liquid state which is then circulated in the room. Due to their pivotal role in effective working of air conditioning unit, condensers are costly. Therefore, some manufacturers, in order to reduce production costs and increase their profit margin install poor quality, inefficient condensers in their products which are highly ineffective in rapidly cooling the refrigerant. As a result of which, one needs to keep the air conditioner running for long periods to sufficiently cool the room. This leads to higher energy consumption, thus higher electricity bills.

Best Brand AC in your area?

Best Brand
First off all there isn't a “Best” brand. Top manufacturers typically use the same components.

I will explain about 3 types of Air Conditioners.

Types of Air Conditioners

There are 3 basic types of home ACs to consider.

1. The first is the window AC. If your goal is to cool down 1 room and you don’t want to take up any floor space, this is the type that you want. The only downside is you’ll need to install it into your window. It’s not that difficult and there are plenty of videos on Youtube that will show you how. You’ll also need one in every room.

2.The second is the portable air conditioner. If you want to be able to move the AC from one room to another, then a portable AC might be what you’re looking for. The downside is you’ll need to run a hose out the window or door so the heat can be removed. If this is a hassle, then a window AC might be better.

3. The third is central AC. This will obviously cost you a lot more but the advantage is you’ll be able to cool down the whole house instead of just one room. Compared to installing a window AC in every room, central air conditioning is more efficient and will save you more money.

Within the category of central air conditioning, there are 4 types: Split systems, heat pumps, packaged central air conditioners, and ductless mini-split systems with the first being the most common.

So if you want to keep it simple, get a window AC and install it. If you don’t mind having to stick a hose out the window, get a portable one. If you have the money and want to cool most or all of the house down, get central AC.

Please see the list of Best AC brand for a home in India below. These list is prepared by review ratings.

1. Voltas 1.2 Ton 5-Star Inverter Split AC

2. Samsung 1.5 Ton 3-Star Inverter Split AC

3. LG 1.5 Ton 5-Star Inverter Split AC

4. Whirlpool 1.5 Ton 3-Star Inverter Split AC

5. Daikin 1.5 Ton 4-Star Inverter Split AC

6. Blue Star 1.5 Ton 5-Star Inverter Split AC

How to save Electric bill with AC

These tips may help you...

logo
If you haven't purchased an AC yet, go with an inverter ac if possible. The initial investment is more than a non-inverter one, but on a long run, it will provide significant savings on your electricity bill.

Clean the filters every two weeks, if you run them on a regular basis. A clean filter will allow smooth airflow to the coils and cool down the room quickly, resulting in power savings.

Set the temperature between 25-27 C. Please note, that setting the temperature at 18C doesn't make the air coming out of the vents cooler. It merely means that the compressor will continue to run till the indoor temperature drops to 18 C.

The amount of time the AC requires to cool your room depends on several factors, like....

  • The area of your room.
  • The area covered with glass (windows)
  • Which floor you're on (if there are any floors above yours)
  • If your room is facing east or west.
  • How many electrical devices are operated in your room (TV, Fridge, Computer etc). They all emit heat during operation.

Insulation of your room (use heavy curtains and make sure there is minimum gap on the top and bottom of your doors and windows)

Number of occupants in the room.

Many people prefer to run the ceiling fan along with the AC because it circulates the cool air inside the room. I don't prefer that because..

When you run the ceiling fan, the heat from the ceiling is pushed below which negates the cooling effect of the AC and so the AC will have to run longer. This is especially more prominent, if you live on the top floor with the terrace right above your room.

With the ceiling fan running, the dust within the room circulates and accumulates on the AC filters. So it's also important to keep your room as clean and dust free as possible.

Instead of switching the AC ON & OFF repeatedly, set the temperature at a comfortable level, i.e. 25-27 C (this will depend on the factors mentioned above in point # 4 a - g) and let it run. Everytime you switch off and back ON, there is a spike in electricity consumption (This is the reason why Inverter ACs are power efficient, they never switch OFF their compressor but makes it run at a lower intensity, saving power)

Avoid opening the doors of your room too frequently, every time you open the door of the room, a gush of warm air gets inside the room thereby increasing the ambient temperature and making the AC run longer.

I have seen people installing Window ACs at a much lower level on their walls (around 1-2 feet above the floor). This is a bad position because warm air is lighter and rises up towards the ceiling. So if you have the Window AC placed at a lower height, the cooling will not be quick as it will struggle to pull in the warm air from the top.

How to Select Best Air conditioner

First of all nowadays air conditioner is a common major appliance to any home and it's not a not a big deal to purchase. It's true everyone can't purchase AC because of its huge price that a common man cannot afford. If you are a Salaried person then you can but an air conditioner through EMI system ; for that you need a credit card or finance cards of companies like Bajaj,.. Etc.

What to Buy????

Second thing I need to tell you that if you are living in coastal areas like Mumbai, Cochin, Chennai, Kolkatta,.. etc always buy best brands. Salt from sea through air may damage your outdoor unit coilscoils ( It will not happen in a year) . In this situation you cannot blame manufacturing company. So always service your AC after every season. I mean use it wisely. Especially clean your indoor unit two filters in every 15 days. The more care more validity and less electric.

Another thing I need to tell you that ; Buy  AC from a known too dealer or shopkeeper. We customers need a brand new air conditioning according to our needs and value for our money. Some salesman will handover old stock or display units . This won't let you to happen for that always update manufacturing date of that year by google search and visiting AC brands website before going to buy.
I will tell you my own experience. Please read...
My first AC unit is from Haier company 1 Ton. It was a good AC for 3 month, later I had experienced water coming problem and so I sold it for a second rate with some loss.

Which is the best AC? First read my blog then you will understand more.
Ans: It will depend a lot on your city and several other factors. A place like Mumbai which usually does not have high temperatures throughout the year would need less tonnage, where as a place like Delhi which is super hot in summers would need more. In my suggestion always go for 1 ton if you are ready to pay.

A 1 TR AC can cool a room of the dimensions (lwh) 12′ x 12′ x 10′ or 1440 cubic feet. You can arrive at the cft area in any manner by having slightly different dimensions. If the room is bigger, the AC compressor will work longer, consume more electricity before it can bring the temperature to the set level on the thermostat. If the room is much larger (> 1.25 times in volume), you will need a more powerful AC.

Atlast in general
  1. Look for Inverter AC only. Always try to buy 5-star Inverter AC if your budget allows, otherwise buy 4-Star Inverter or 3-Star Inverter, but nothing below that.
  2. Look for highest ISEER. More the ISEER, lesser the electricity bill.
  3. Look for BLDC or DC Inverter which you will find in Daikin or Japanese brands. Otherwise, look for dual-inverter which you will find in LG all models and Samsung 1.5 Ton and above.
  4. Look for Coanda feature which does not vent air directly to you. In Coanda, the AC vents out air towards upper part of the room to spread coolness evenly and make space comfortable. Daikin and some Japanese brands use this feature. Samsung uses Wind-Free feature where the cold air comes out from hundreds of small holes.
  5. Look for copper tubes/coils etc. in the outdoor units. Avoid Aluminium tubes/coils.
  6. Many brands are giving 10 years warranty on compressor, e.g. LG, Samsung, Hitachi. There are few more.

How to fix water leaking / droplets problem from Air Conditioner.

Think

This is a common problem of many air-conditioners in my experience. Did you ever think why its happening?. I had also experience this problem when I  installed my first AC .

First Read it..

Now lets discuss the matter together. In my opinion its not the problem of any AC company or brands, its our small mistakes while fixing and handling air-conditioners in home. Many use AC only for cooling and they put directly into 16 or 18 degree Celsius. First off all don't do this. Human body best temperature from ac is 24. If you keep maintaining temperature in 24 you will get no harm from AC and less electric charge for home. OK I am not going to long this passage. I will explain how to take precautions and avoid water coming problem from AC.

Do's and Don'ts
  1. Always install exactly 90 degree in wall
  2. Keep drainage pipe in near enough to you to reach it.
  3. Service AC after every season
  4. Do not set temperature in 16 - 22 degree for more than 6 hours
  5. Please activate sleep mode during sleep
  6. After prolonged use press clean button in AC remote
  7. Or Activate fan only mode for 15 minutes after prolonged use of AC.
  8. Set temperature only in 24 - 28 during sleep
  9. If water coming from AC call AC technician and  please avoid self cleaning
  10. Clean your AC filters every 15 days.
The above mentioned statements are only from my experiences
